Mclaren MP4-30 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

its seems the benefits it brings is packaging the sidepods smaller because the radiator has been removed from the sidepods, but that must be judge against the fact that having the radiator so high in the car must raise the centre of gravity and plumbing must be a nightmare , i wonder if the payoff is worth it at all?

I read that the closer to the ground you are the warmer the air is, therefore, diminished cooling for the same realestate. Hence a disadvantage of having the same cooling in the side pod would be that it would need to be larger, weight more and cause more drag to get the same cooling.

Wrong topic to discuss the livery, guys! Livery belongs either in the team thread, or in the specified mclaren livery topic. I'll move the none-conforming posts later on. In the meanwhile: keep the discussion limited on the technical aspects of the car (except the PU, which also has its own thread).
