Red Bull RB11 Renault

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Wow... not that discussion again. Seems some people still did not get that gearing is not really important anymore now.

Only just noticed the teardrop shaped flow conditioners on top of the diffuser. Are these new and are they unique to RB?
Those house sensors i think. They have been around.

Laps so far with the RB11. Compared to 2014 they are able to triple the 2014-pre-season-milage. So on paper RB should be much better prepared.

In Barcelona 1 and 2, Renault have the biggest lap average per car AFAIK. (Merc has 4 cars, Renault and Ferrari have two)

It looks like they are running more wing than they did last year, front and rear.

Am I seeing that right that they are back to the more rounded RB10 style diffuser side and guerney flap design

That hasn't changed from last year I don't think.

Does anyone know how they can run their rear wing seemingly so shallow? It's the most shallow of all the top teams and rather than having a much more aggressive AoA, is much more smooth and flowing.

That was basically my Point. While in the first tests they had a more Merc style diffuser with more boxy edges and guerney they are now back to their rounded design which they had in the previous years.

That's strange, is it going to run on track? Why would they ship it to Barcelona?

Yes. Very likely.

I wouldn't bee too surprised if Daniel will drive it, to maybe evaluate some chassis changes.
