Red Bull RB12 TAG-Heuer Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

i was thinking they utilised "powered by TagHeuer" line and not a small TagHeuer sticker

It's clearly their pre-season colours on probably the RB9 or RB11 considering Ricciardo's number is on the side. I think their livery will more so look like their new Puma attire they showed off in their announcement video and on their website currently.

Again that's an RB7 in the interim livery from the Rugby promo they made.

Hoping so...
Favourite driver: Lando Norris
Favourite team: McLaren

Turned down the chance to meet Vettel at Silverstone in 2007. He was a test driver at the time and I didn't think it was worth queuing!! 🤦🏻‍♂️

People, can livery talk please be done in the team thread and not in the car thread? Even if this is the speculation thread, livery is about sponsors and team colours, which always have gone in the team thread. The car thread is about hardware functionality. It is even confirmed the livery will be shown on an older red bull car, so there nothing even relating to the RB12!

Are we sure this is an RB11? Or have Red Bull trolled us and unveiled (parts of) the RB12?

I cannot remember Red-Bull having the Mercesque camera mountings between the front wheels. And the rear-wing looks different, too.
No, Kimi, no. You will not have the drink.

Really just in time:
They began with crashtests on Monday and finished today with the last one.

This is a RB11 with old engine cover from beginning of 2015. Nothing (beside livery) on this car is 2016.

That's a quite optimistic timeline, but on the other hand regulation changes are very minor and I don't expect a totally different nose from RBR in 2016...

The "Mercesque" cam mountings were introduced last year in Hungary.

Surface technology can play a valuable role here: Recent developments – such as the riblet (sharkskin) coating system developed at Fraunhofer IFAM – allow a significant reduction of the drag of surfaces.

The specialists at Fraunhofer IFAM develop not only coating materials for this purpose but also develop suitable application techniques and equipment and measuring devices for quality assurance.

Not sure if can be applied on a F1 car
