Mercedes AMG F1 W07

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

If they changed his car in any way (to aid overtaking for example) they would start from the pitlane. As they're only replacing a damaged part with the exact same configuration they can start at the back of the grid.

Thanks for clarifying.

Lewis Hamilton forced onto second engine of F1 2016 at Chinese GP
Mercedes confirmed the power unit would be changed in order to "give us time to properly analyse the issue back at the factory and then determine which components from PU one can be re-used at future events".

Hamilton has the choice of starting from the pitlane but plans to take the start from 22nd on the grid.

Wolff said the decision was made because "it gives him more opportunity to overtake into the first corner".

Or more chance getting hit again in the first corner, if we look at his luck this season so far.

What is the requirement for the FIA sticker on top of the steering wheel?

The sticker means the wheel as a homologated component has been inspected and sealed and thus no extra electronic gubbins has been added inside to control the car!!!

Other than a car spinning in front of him, i think he's in the "driver seat" for this one, he will get to pick his line and braking points after he sees what the cars ahead of him are doing.

Any time on a race weekend before Q1 qualifying starts. That denotes the start of parc ferme conditions.

Jup just as I predicted. Broken front wing thanks to ....lady luck again... + Merc should better hire a strategist than a sound engineer. Complete joke :-({|=
