Was a keen observer of the split times today
Couple of fast laps from Alonso but he backed off the next lap
Looking forward to Spain

Yes. And with that double points finish, McLaren is 7th in the constructors championship ahead of Force India and Renault. Great drive by Fernando

He was saving fuel. He said in an interview that he wanted to have a bit of fun for one lap (and push as fast as possible)

Lap 42, lap 48 and the last lap were the fast laps (~2s faster)
Next lap split times were back to the stint timings (based on fuel load, tyre deg and track evolution)

Really I didn't know this. Wasn't it some time ago that beer was considered non-alcoholic there?

I found that odd. You can have big alcohol sponsorships in the winners room, but not out on track?
Friendship with Honda ended, Renault is my new (and more reliable) friend.

Lots of new parts coming for Spain:
Motorsport.com:
McLaren will introduce a new floor, wings and bodywork as part of a major update for the Spanish Grand Prix, one that it hopes will boost its chances of getting in to Q3.
