Red Bull RB13 TAG Heuer

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Well, that is what "development" means
Generally accepted, but a full Second falls rather in the 'Miracle' category. Or totally f*cked up in the first place.

I think they have lost a lot of time with the suspension

For sure being behind you have more space to improve easy ( but please don t tell Honda )
but if redbull improves 1 second ( it is a lot but it can be if they identified really big problem and alted the developement toward a radical redesign of more than one key element, not only suspension but also diffuser and so on... but spain would be too early for such a radical redesign )
count that the teams ahead are not wasting their time too

Just a reminder that the thread is about actual technical parts on the RB13 itself. Discussion about what RBR should do, time to be gained, design faults etc etc should be posted on the team thread.

Looks like the RB13 from the press release at the beginning of the season. The bargeboards specifically aren't the updated ones we saw in Melbourne.

McLaren MP4-19B (2004) is a good example of gaining 1 sec with a B-spec car.

It's not exceptionally much, teams often quote a few tenths at the usual Spain update. Don't forget that this one second improvement does not automatically mean that they are one second closer; Other teams improve as well.

From the first winter test it was clear that Red Bull had missed the boat, it'll be much easier for them to make big improvements than for Mercedes, for example
