Red Bull RB13 TAG Heuer

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

Must not have fitted enough ellipses to the 'perfect aero design' at the beginning of the season...on the more serious side, those are some quite major changes really, wonder if they had correlation issues with the internal airflow earlier on in the season?

Damn, it looks like RB are pretty close to Ferrari and Merc. However, we must take into consideration that this is a more chassis dependent track rather than PU. Nevertheless, an excellent job by RB.

As predicted from last year. Copying of mercedes serated floor ideas is the way forward.

If only RB had a competitive PU. 2017 would've been a very intense three-way fight. Well, we can still have a hardcore three-way fight in the second part of this season.

I think the Renault engine by this point is a lot more competitive that people give it credit for, they certainly don't end up in fuel saving modes much any more, no more so than the Merc and Ferrari anyway, and it doesn't lack much for straightline speed any more either, DRS overtakes on the Merc and Ferrari are no issue any longer.

What serrations are you talking about? I see nothing copied from Mercedes and I certainly don't see serrations.

IIRC the RB8 was the first car that introduced the tire squirt slots in the floor.

I disagree. If Renault was anywhere near Ferrari or Mercedes on power then Red Bull should have been on pole in Hungary. The main issue is reliability and every time that either Daniel or Max want to push the RB13 it lets them down. While in performance the Renault might be able to get past customer Mercedes it certainly isn't anywhere near the factory Mercedes performance, especially when Mercedes have the dial turned to 11.
