Ferrari 2017 Contender Speculation Thread

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

From motorsport:
The Italian squad said during a Christmas media event on Monday that its new car will run for the first time at its Fiorano circuit on February 24.

Looking forward to seeing it.

Ferrari hasn't been the best at making pretty cars of late (to my mind, the F10 was the last properly good looking one) but I'm expecting all of next year's cars to be quite striking - here's hoping the red one is everything it should be.

Disclaimer! Not a Ferrari specific 2017 f1 design, just a general opinion based impression by infamous artist Sean Bull in Ferrari colors. Does probably not fully comply with Tech rules. Posted for entertainment. Hot sauce: AMUS.

I hope they get rid of white from their livery. I had this posted at the beginning of the 2016 season.

CAPELLI: WHITE DOES NOT BRING GOOD RESULTS TO FERRARI

2016 turned out to be a downward turn from an upward trend they were on in 2015.

Not a lot of info about the chasis itself but some interesting notes abou the PU.

And yes, take off those ugly white parts!

More speculations on Ferrari 2017 car. They seems to be very aggressive on 2017 design. Good!!!

This one doesn't really add much from the millions of other articles on this subject - other than it claims Ferrari have already developed a system of this kind (rather than not having one and therefore looking to have others' banned).

It does make one wonder - somewhat along the lines of Ross Brawn's recent comments on "shaping arguments" when it comes to major regulation changes (https://www.jamesallenonf1.com/2016/12/ ... -f1-rules/) - if Ferrari framed their letter in such a way that their own way of controlling ride height does not fall foul of the new Technical Directive. That would be very much the type of thing Ross Brawn is alluding to and shrewd thinking from Ferrari if so (albeit, nothing to stop others then querying Ferrari's system in the same way, other than that a framework has to some extent already been established).

Could be interesting. Could also be that the article jumps to an unfounded conclusion in its opening sentence.

Today on f1analisitecnica.it ( http://www.f1analisitecnica.com/2017/01 ... ra-il.html ) there's an article about rumors on Ferrari's front nose: 2017 car should use 2016 concept with a central nose and should adopt S-duct

I think they are a bit small. like non-existent... and as they are supposed to grow a lot from 2016 to 2017, I think this is Blackout referring to.
