Sauber C36 Ferrari

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

It looks split. A large portion pours over the sides while the portion closer to the car center line stays there all the way to the rear, like with the Mclaren picture. The placement of both vortex generators on the Sauber mid-sidepods look to energize the flow in both areas. Are you suggesting they are sending all of it under the cooling exhaust?

I think they'd like to. Check this out from 2015...

The yellow line isn't meant to indicate anything beyond shape.

Sadly, I can't find Flo-Vis imagery for the revised shape at the bottom, but it seems pretty self-explanatory to me, and they've maintained that SF15-T-like contour ever since.

Thanks! And yes, it seems like that is certainly what the shape is meant for.

Nice to see the sharkfins come back! :D The roll blade structure here is a nice touch as well.

It's just me, or the sound of the engine looks a little bit lounder/higher compared to previous years?
They are using the 2016 Ferrari power unit, aren't they?
Nevertheless, maybe with the new fuel capacity, this engine have a little more power than last year...So maybe there is more energy left to "waste" on sound... Just guessing...

When looking at the front of the sidepods on the new Ferrari, this is exactly what i thought about.
