Renault Sport F1 R.S.17

Yes, don't like illegal to me !

But we never know... with fia you can have issues with an "illegal" DRS but when it comes to "magic" suspensions they take 3 years to make a decision :?

Adrian Newey said in some interview that many teams have problems to make vortex y250 work properly,so there we see many aero parts like on Mercedes, Ferrari.........
T wing is nothing special, and that solution we saw 20 year ago.....

Yes, that is true. Some teams saw that solution on Renault, and complain, even though thay think that solution not give advantage.

Blackout, the original tweet you posted says it's higher than allowed as well. :) Besides, if that's legal than they (and everyone else) would have done it from the start and endplates would be as high also.
And they call it a stall. A STALL!

I have seen this picture a few pages back but anyone else noticed that the steering wheel has six paddles? I am curious what the function of two extra paddles would be. Maybe someone here knows the answer?

Some cars have pedals to run trough menus on the steering wheel. This is probably the same.
Thank you really doesn't really describe enough what I feel. - Vettel

2015-2016 Gbox with the exhaust opening:

The old gearbox was a carry over from the Mercedes days of Lotus.
In 2016 they have adapted the gear box only to suit the Renault V6.
Now they have designed it properly for the new engine, as this is a complete different concept.

This was mentioned in the Racecar engineering article.

I know that but all the other Renault-engined cars since 2014* had a similar Gbox in that regard (the exhaust - and air- pipes holes where placed quite high) and the exhausts were sometimes visible from the back...
*except for the RB10 in which the pipes penetrated the casing very low, around the clutch AFAIR)
RB12 http://www.racecar-engineering.com/wp-c ... prbr31.jpg
So maybe the new Renault is just doing the same as the RB10 and the exhaust are very low and hidden by the bodywork...

Very interesting flow patterns here too. Look how a part of the flow goes straight towards the thin floor 'flip ups', for example / how the flip up is placed in its path : P

But I wonder; If they put more flowviz on top of the sidepods/engine cover, closer to the airbox foot/ near the yellow stripe, how the flow would look? any guesses or pictures?
