McLaren MCL32 Honda

A place to discuss the characteristics of the cars in Formula One, both current as well as historical. Laptimes, driver worshipping and team chatter do not belong here.

New difussor for tomorrow i hear...
Someone told me the new floor is en route at the minute - so I guess given the diffuser is probably a complementary update that would go together, the upgrade package for the Mclaren will go on tommorow.
It sounds like it's just fine tuning though, nothing visually huge like Merc.

I dont know if they run assymetric sidepod size, but if we take the head protection and follow that, then either its assymetric or the sidepods is more tight

Maybe. The cooling outlets are angled more upwards at the back.

Can't be final form. They haven't shown their driver name/number solution on the sides even. So I'd say there is more to come over the weekend as suggested previously. We'll just have to see. Practice form tonight will be interesting to watch.

On the pit radio Vandoorne was told to use handbrake. What could it be?

I believe it was for Turn 10, his engineer was giving him advice on where he was losing time.

It looks like the plank is not parallel to the floor. My eyes are deceiving my I guess. That's not allowed, is it?

Davidson said, that it is just a different setting for corner entry (mainly different engine brake settings) to reduce turn in understeer.
