But other teams manage with 1.
I've found a way of ducting exhaust right to the diffuser edge like in 2011 and created a new wheel fastener that could allow sub 2 second pitstops see them here --> My 2013 F1 Concept Project

You can see there's a split inside often times. Maybe people in Sauber thought they have some benefits packaging-wise or they though they needed to tune ducts separately. No big deal IMO.

The RB6 also ran with double ducts in street circuits and heavy braking circuits since Monaco.

Willem Toet will return to his old role as Sauber's head of aerodynamics, the Swiss team has announced.

Toet held the position from 2006 to 2009, during the period when the squad was BMW-owned, but stepped down after the German manufacturer's departure.

He will retake the position from 14 November, replacing Seamus Mullarkey, who has requested a change of role.

"The British engineer favours more technical and less management-oriented assignments and will be in charge of Aerodynamic Research," said a Sauber statement.

Prior to joining BMW Sauber in 2006, Toet worked at Toleman/Benetton, Ferrari and

Not sure if this has been posted, I looked back a few pages and didn't see anything. Great videos of Sauber behind the scenes at their factories.

Peter Sauber said this car has been racing WITHOUT the Blown diffuser trick pioneered by the RedBull RB7.

Interesting if true, as the Sauber C30 has done quite well keeping up with the competition, Q3 car at times too. The base car is quite god then. This could mean that the Sauber C31 stands to lose little performance for 2012.

If true that's quite impressive.

This seems odd... In the video found at http://www.f1talks.pl/?p=11635, labeled factory tour 1 (at the 5:19 point), the mechanic is holding the now standard oval (flattened) exhaust collector used to blow the side of the diffusers by everyone else.
