Any chatter on the Merc engines this weekend? Detuning for reliability again or are we back at full throttle?

Will be interested to see how Ferrari and Red Bull shape up around here against one another.

Smashing circuit and it will be a great GP in a closely matched Formula...one day!

There was a news article earlier this week stating that Williams would get the same spec engines that Hamilton used in Malaysia so I suppose Mercedes don't see any need to make any mechanical modifications.

Really? Lol, must have forgotten about it :D

Anyway, it was a really good scrap. Perhaps pirelli should only bring intermediate tires and that's it. Who needs slicks for good racing anyway

The engines are in decent working order then judging by that pace

I see that Max V in third ran mediums through the entire stint though. Any compound for compound comparison available for the Mercs medium times versus Verstappens?

It's crazy, the cars are almost no faster than 2014 or 2015. Heavy fuel laps are in the 42's for the Mercedes. Maybe 1.5 seconds faster than 2014...

They did that while the team was fighting for the constructors' title. Now they've won that, I would expect them to be more hands off. To tell the leading driver not to do that would be favouring the other driver which would be wrong when there is a fight for the title between the drivers.
That!
All the fans want - and I hope I speak in their behalf - is just a good battle between Nico and Lewis, knowing that the WCC is all over now.
Unfortunately this year there was just one real fight - in Austria - and we know who won there  ...

Back to the topic Ricci in FP2 part 2 - after the red flag - seems to be dangerously close to Merc boys and with Ferrari working only for the race makes a good prospect for the Sunday race.
Medium tyre doesn`t look so great in FP1 nor FP2 maybe due to the cold track temperature and had those temps remain for the rest of the week this could favour the soft tyre, hence at least 2 stops ...
