I think the merc drivers are sandbagging, trying to hide pace from each other.

It's getting silly now renault and ferrari.
Would have said getting 'downforce' rather than silly! Lineup more likley attributed to increasing DF levels running from highest speeds to slowest, as it is not a power track.
yeah, it's a total coincidence 7 out of 8 mercedes powered cars are fastest trough ST.
Further 'coincidence' that RIC & VET had 20th & 22nd slowest time through speed trap, but set 3rd and 5th fastest lap in FP2!

Alonso seems mighty quick around here. it will be very exciting if Alonso could finish pole or split the merc in front.

Agree Sax.
Ferrari and Renault P1 and P2 respectively now at the end of FP3. It is well known Red Bull go for higher (relative to competition) DF levels at tracks like singapore.
What would be a telling statistic, is the DF sensitive sectors which would tell the story of them sacrificing outright top speed to get better times in the twisty sectors.
Ridiculous to point to top speed as some indication at a track like this. DF levels are varied in extremis and Gearing is also not accounted when looking at the raw data.

Rosberg just spoilt the ferrari party with that last lap in Q2. So the Merc were sandbagging all along

BOOM HEADSHOT.

edit: brilliant reaction by Rosberg :) Love this championship, it´s so tight between those two it´s absolutely bonkers.

Oh look, can't get much more accurate

After fp2:

Though mercs did luck into this front row (kinda, by their standards anyway), and I really wanted someone else to take pole, be it ferrari or rb.

I wonder if Lewis actually lost a tenth and a half, due to the lock up like he said.
