well...even if he took to 4 wheels off the track. Still move of the decade to be honest. The build up, the set up, the testing of different lines, the staying out of turbulent air, taking a much tighter line into that corner in previous laps. Then the execution.

If we're going with absolute black and white clear cut all 4 wheels off the track - fine. But.....its never deployed in a black and white fashion and down to judgement.
It was an overtake on the limit. Penalty not deserved.
Sainz move on Perez was better and Legal

Appalling tyre management by Vettel and Bottas ... no issues for Lewis and Kimi in the same cars ... also funny how Vettel didn't even manage to slow down hard enough to give Kimi DRS on the straight

Can Max still taste champagne? Or is the demotion before the celebrations?
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II

I think Bottas didn't think Vandoorne will give him the space at the exit of that corner but he did and Vettel saw the opportunity.

Damn. Its funny, when Vettel turns into Hamilton, they take half pf the race to make a decision... and here not even 20 seconds? Gutted for Max.

(Ps: didnt see the replay. Was it that bad?)

How can one statement not preclude the other?

Odd that Vettel was going to slowly that his wake screwed Kimi but not slow enough for Kimi to get DRS. Seemed like an obvious helping hand to provide if you are dawdling anyway.

Loved that Perez was going on about how much pace he had then, the minute he gets passed by Sainz, he can't stay close whilst Ocon holds Sainz off reasonably comfortably.

Bet Alonso is counting the seconds until he has a different motor in the back.

from the onboard it looked like he cut the corner, in the replay from the front it looked like at least one of the tyres was still on the white line

It's the selective ruling though.

We will ignore it all weekend and then when it suits we will use the rule about leaving the track to effect the podium places.

Fully agree. As an F1 fan you can only object to this descision and give max the credit he deserves. Just look at Raikkonen his body language. Credit to him he knows that he was beaten fair and square and shouldn’t be on that podium.
