Vettel continues to show his weaknesses. He has raw pace but sometimes i wonder how he deals with chasing down for a position and getting a good start.
After he damaged that diffuser; that's when i knew he was unsettled. He can't take the pressure.
Trying to keep up to Lewis, when Lewis was just toying with him. 8)
Well that dispels any concerns over who was faster today. We got our Vettel hamilton showdown and Hamilton had total control of Vettel and only pushed when the gap fell bellow 0.7s and he was heavier in a lesser car.
Good race though but i wanted to see a 3 way battle with Rosberg in the mix.
For Sure!!

but they were not.

you can not blame Button for those teams starting the season unprepared.

i know, but i just feel this year button as emerged as the best of a bad bunch.

in terms of 2009, yes he should be champion, but compared to the last 2-3 champs hes got a long way to go.

Button is not a deserving champ. I'd rather see Rubens take the title than Button, because you know he's had to work harder to reach the summit.

Great race for Lewis, he showed how a true champ brings it home.

I rate Barichello.. I prefer him to Button but where was he wan Button was snatching up those wins? He only just woke up a few races ago.. so based on the whole season even though I don't particularly like Button.. i think he deserves it more than Barichello... but i still want Barichello to win it!

Too bad Lou & merc threw away so many points this year, even with the terrible car early on, if he had all the points they squandered he could actually be in title contention.

6 points in Austrailia
1 point or so in China
10 points for the possible Monaco win
10 more in Germany
2 lost in Valencia
2 or so points at SPA
6 more from Monza

with the momentum he has now he would have been able to put on a real challenge.

Apparently Barichello wasn't comfortable with the brakes, untill they changed something later in the season, which is part of the reason for his increased pace. He lost a few points earlier in the season due to bad luck/strategy. But really, Button was the better driver of the two in the first 7 or so races.

adrian sutil // reprimanded and a €20 000 fine.

seb vettle // speeding in pit lane, he was doing 101.4 ??? bit harsh really

That is very harsh.. Specially on Sutil for once trying to overtake and he was stuck there for 8-9 laps he had to do something they drive the way the Stuarts want them to they might as well just have qualifying at Singapore. The 2 Force India's and the Torro Rosso where the only source of entertainment in the super dull race and the get fined for being entertaining. Imagine if there was no SC today or no drive through then the positions at lap2 = final positions.

Sutil's punishment is very illogical and inconsistent with other precedents.
They should've given him grid-penalty or reprimanded him but not fine him. Fines are usually given for rule breaches that didn't give a sporting advantage (like pit-lane speeding at free practices) or happened due to team mistake (like unsafe release from pit-stop).

Just a quick question, while watching the GP today see Alonso's last stop was 5.5 seconds thts was atleast a second faster than anyone. (I suspect these are TV times rather than actualy time) but has there ever been quicker than tht?

If Bernie had had his way, Button would be the champ NOW.

6 wins is more than anyone else...
I think we'll see a different, less pressured Button in Japan. And I think Suzuka will suite him well.

Rosberg deserved better...but there you go, he'll get his podium soon, he and the FW31 deserve it...Kazuki is done for though, his quali performance compared to Rosberg was appauling and the race, he went no where.

Excellent lights to flag race by Lewis, he is a truely great driver, Alonso's only real rival. But it will be good to see how Lewis goes against Kimi in the MR4-25.

RedBull need to sort their sh1t out...way too fragile all year, the RB5 is (just) the best car IMO, but they have managed to destroy their own season with reliability and judgement calls going wrong.

Totally agree that the track is dull and has too many turns to induce overtaking.

Indeed axle Red Bull have had too many mistakes , unreliability and bad judgement calls I think this for them is a huge learning year and that they will be much stronger for 2010.

The RB6 will be competetive I'm sure and that Newey and his team will work to help the cars shortcomings at street circuits and Low Downforce tracks like Monza.
The other crucial thing is whether they will get a Merc for 2010 if they do I expect them to have reliability and a very competetive engine that will help their 2010 campaign even more.

Vettel indeed has raw pace his just got to rub out the errors for example last year at STR when he was regularly scoring points he didn't make many mistakes but this year has made countless mistakes but I'm confident Vettel will bounce back in 2010 and have a greater desire to win.

I don't expect Red Bull's reliability problems to go away in the future. Red Bull, and Newey specifically have quite the reputation now for having unreliable cars.

The season is not over yet, and in the next races Red Bull's reliability problems may really bite them hard.

When was the last time somebody won 3 times as many races then anyone else and didnt win the WDC... Button deserves the WDC based on the fact that nobody else even has 3.

Points are stupid... Wins are real
