I dont think he will sell the car division off as it has lots of orders and is making him money. It might be included into the F1 team as a sweetener. But most of the lower teams are for sale 'for the right money'.
But who knows maybe renault will provide them with the same package as red bull, and then they will get some points?

What went wrong with Kobayashi? He suddenly made a lot of mistakes which cost him and the team some really valuable points.

Looks like early reports Fernandes has begun the process of putting the team up for sale.

If the team is sold, hope it is to these guys Image

Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum has been in the fringes of f1 for quiet some time (since the jordan 2005 failed take over) would be great to see a full middle east team rather than through share holdings in Merc, Mclaren or ferrari

A statement has been published on their website saying that the team is not for sale:

"Despite press rumours to the contrary, Caterham Group is not for sale.

The reports circulating this weekend are factually incorrect.

It is, however, true that the Group is actively searching for additional investment as it seeks to fulfil ambitious plans to develop.

The shareholders of the Group, co-Chairmen Tony Fernandes and Datuk Kamarudin Meranun, remain wholly committed to the Caterham brand.

Fernandes confirmed: "The Caterham Group is not for sale. We love what we build and we are always looking for further investment. This is no different to how we started AirAsia. Yes, we are constantly challenging ourselves and making decisions on everything from the structure to projects within the Group. That is normal business. That does not mean we are selling."

I am pretty certain the team is for sale only question is how much. When team boss say it's not for sale it is indirectly saying they are still searching or waiting for buyer.

Would it theoretically be possible to only by their liscence/slot in F1 if no one wants to buy the team as a whole?

Will be surprise if Caterham can continue with their sports car program without a big manufacturer support.
Renault has taken full control of the joint venture with Caterham to build a sportscar under the Alpine and Caterham brands.

It has been known for some time that the agreement between Renault and Caterham to platform share on a small sports car had fallen through, but a press release on Tuesday confirmed Renault had acquired Caterham's stake in the project. The car will still be built by Renault under the Alpine brand but will no longer be sold as a Caterham.

"Following a mutual agreement between Renault and Caterham Group, Renault has increased its stake in Société des Automobiles Alpine Caterham to 100%, following acquisition of the interest held by Caterham Group," read a statement. "Renault will now continue to develop its own Alpine sports car to be launched in 2016, as initially planned. Caterham Group also plans to continue with its own sports car.

"The acquisition brings an end to the partnership signed in November 2012 by Renault and Caterham Group to develop and manufacture sports cars through a joint venture. Other forms of cooperation could still be envisaged between Renault and Caterham Group in line with each company's strategic policy directions."

The future of the Caterham Group, including the road car business and the Formula One team, was subject to speculation earlier this year but rumours it was for sale were denied by Group boss Tony Fernandes.

I have just read on Croatian site that there are rumors that say Caterham won't be at Austrian GP
http://www.gp1.hr/na-vn-austrije-nece-biti-caterhama/

Link is in Croatian, but you can use google translate.

In short: it says that rumor appeared on Twitter and was than published by Speed Week.

Wonder why Tony only say they are racing at Austria instead of till the end of the season?

I guess because people asked him 'Will Caterham be in Austria' and not 'Will Caterham finish the season'.

Doesn't mean they will or won't finish the season, just that people will read between lines unnecessarily whenever a rumour starts doing the rounds.

Change at Caterham's ownership is expected. Tony Fernandes' Twitter account is gone with the message: “F1 hasn't worked love Caterham Cars.”

I hope they will find good owners for the team. It was a nice effort by Tony, but for whatever reason, they haven't lived up to their early promise.
