TJ13. What a reliable source. I doubt that Renault and Ferrari started their work that late... (TJ13 says recently in September 13 ) The sentece "Ross Brawn allegedly took a look at the design...." shows that this could be written by every fan-boy in this forum. FFS, there are more engineers at Merc than Brawn. Brawn is no engine expert... I suppose TJ13 thinks Adrian Newey was the only one to blame for RB's succes.mclaren111 wrote:TJ13 Commented:
"Mercedes began work on this project several years ago whereas Renault and Ferrari started more recently. So any expenditure made by Mercedes will seem larger than their counterparts but even so, if rumours are to be believed, the finalisation of the design was recent. Ross Brawn allegedly took a look at the design last September and instructed the team to ‘think outside the box"
September 2013 !!
Thus Honda should not have any problems with their PU on power or reliability. IMHO

hmmmm with honda coming along and contributing most of the budget, I will be amazed if it isn't red and white again!slimfitcasual wrote:Slightly OT, Mclaren shows off their P1 GTR, perhaps a tease of what next year's livery could look like?

Seeing as they had the red and white Marlboro livery from the mid 70s, running with both a Cosworth DFV and the TAG/Porsche Turbo engine before Honda came aboard, I would venture that the livery had nothing to do with Honda in the slightest. It is hardly as if Williams or Lotus ran red and white cars whilst they had the Honda powerplant in the 80s.akshat21 wrote:Or it could be Silver/red or Dark grey/red.. since Honda's current logo is more on frosted Silver to dark grey.
AFAIK, the red and white livery of the 1990s was more for Marlboro than it was for Honda.
Indeed even the Honda F1 team in 2006-8 didn't run a white and red livery...yes there was some red in the Lucky Strike related livery, but not enough to call it red and white in my opinion...and the less said about the Earth Dreams liveries the better!!gridwalker wrote:Seeing as they had the red and white Marlboro livery from the mid 70s, running with both a Cosworth DFV and the TAG/Porsche Turbo engine before Honda came aboard, I would venture that the livery had nothing to do with Honda in the slightest.
