Or to take it even further, they can completely re-set up their car after Qualifying.

Even if there were 22 cars I'd change the whole PU now. It's better than having to change it at the double-points finale

Big news leaking from Omnicorse. According to them, Doug McKiernan, Principal Aerodynamicsts (the butter fly suspension, was his idea) along with other engineers have been fired this week. Jonathan Neale gave Matt Morris free hand to reorganise the technical department, because in the coming weeks, there will be new people coming in Mclaren, even a couple of them from Ferrari.

great !

Getting the beast ready for FA arrival. I am very very excited, I have a good feeling.
FA will mark the return of McL to the top !

Ferrari doing the impossible to try and make Kimi go faster than FA, it is almost laughable.

Firing 12 people who designed fundamental part of MP4-30 is nonsense. Also, reorganising tech department 3 months before first test, why would they do that? It's amazing how Italians know so much about McLaren (Honda PU is unreliable and they're 3 months behind schedule, Dennis is forced to leave, half tech department is leaving, next week they'll announce that Prodromou is leaving).

McLaren Formula 1 team restructures technical department
Following the arrival of chief engineer Peter Prodromou in September, McLaren bosses have moved to make its organisation more efficient.

That has resulted in a number of staff being told that they no longer have a future at the team.

This includes its head of aerodynamics Doug McKiernan, who has been put on gardening leave.
A McLaren spokesman told AUTOSPORT: "We are working extremely hard to get McLaren back to where it belongs - at the very front of the grid.

Team insiders say that Prodromou has impressed since joining McLaren, and the first fruits of his labours will be seen at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix with a major upgrade to the car.

Curious to know can McLaren run this B spec car in the race if they are planning to run it in free practice? or against some sort of regulation?
