Big finish for Marussia..in the points for the first time...

I think caterham can kiss goodbye for any chance of 10th place this season unless something really miraculous happen.

wow -congrats to that result..not just a point but a solid points finish ...amazing and well deserved.you Need to finish races and Keep out of Trouble... Sauber will kick themselves ..or their Drivers for throwing away a golden opportunity.
As i have mentioned many times.. asmall Team should and must concentrate recources on this race -it´s a gamble yes ,but look...

fantastic points for Marussia, hopefully now they've got the travel money, the money saved can be spent on replacing Chilton next season and push even further forward

great result

Great result for them, I hope they can stay ninth ahead of Sauber until the end of the season.

Great achievement of the team, during the race I was really hoping they would make it.. fortunately they did! 8)
Lets hope they can continu this uphill trend for the remaining races of this season.

With Caterham up for sale, Maurussia should be able to secure at least a 10th place this season.
This I hope will give them more confidence to be more aggressive with their race strategy.

TO be brutally honest with myself, I've been hoping Caterham does it. When they returned as Lotus (proper lotus not Renault-lotus) i was hoping for a return to the past. With KK driving this year, I was hoping for something special from them, but hats off to Marussia, they've done it and I hope they can make this a regular thing, and I hope that Caterham can get past their problems and get points too.

Anybody an idea what this will mean financially (tv money wise)? I picked up somewhere ending up 10th 2 consecutive years earns more then just 2 seperate years.

Finishing in the top 10 in two out of last three years brings additional $30-50m. Right now they only get perhaps $10m. The sums might be a bit off but I think that is still the principle with which the the tv money is shared. So far Caterham have enjoyed that yearly boost, but havent made much of it.

As I understand it, you get $35m for being a column 1 team. That is, a team that has finished in the top 10 twice in the last 3 years. Then, you get $14m in column 2 for 10th in the constructors. Notably, Marussia are actually 9th in the constructors just now (ahead of Sauber and Caterham). So if things were to stay as they are, they would receive $17.5m in column 2 instead.

So as things stand, Marussia are in line for $52.5m, while they received $14m last year. So a boost in income of $38.5m

Note, all numbers assume a $700m prize fund.
