I think personally that McLaren's first Aim need's to be getting both cars to the finish, that will go hand in hand with providing them more useful data on where to they need to improve with the engine and chassis. Both car's with another DNF would be extremely disappointing! here is hoping the latest update can allow McLaren to do that.
I give it a 90% probability that Alonso retires the car if he's not in the points. Regardless of wether he can or not.

Most probably Alonso & Botttas to switch teams for merc support or engine.

I mentioned this in the Honda PU thread, I think we're about to see the package take a step forward, if not for this race then for Spain. It's no longer in egg stage, now obviously most teams also bring upgrades for Barcelona, so the relative improvement to others may not be ground breaking but a small relative improvement can put them ahead of Williams.

Ufff where do you have to sign that result? I think the same as Goldmeroso McHonda will take a step forward, but they may not be able to repeat the 6th position. In terms of performance that is better? To finish 6 ° to at one lap due to the abandonment of VET, VER, ... or finish 8 ° to 40 s of the head? McHonda is going to take a big step forward in terms of performance / consumption in Sochi, I totally agree with Goldmeroso.

I think Williams will benefit from having the best Mercedes engine to interpose them between Mercedes and Ferrari on one condition, they will let the Mercedes behind them.

Sadly yes. MGU-K issue this time...
Honda are going to use the time to change a few parts to essentially take for stock. 15 place grid penalty.

Sector 2 and 3 very bad, are basically sectors of mechanical traction.

Not sure I agree with that maybe sector 3 is Higher that average dependency on Mech grip. 120KPH is a slow corner but usually we're talking sub 100KPH corners.

I don't have the sector numbers in front of me but from memory it was a Gap of +.750 in S1 and S3 and +1.2 in S2.

By rule 2017. Mclaren will not be able to use the new MGU H and the turbo used in practice free 1.
Only the last used in each gp. @Albert Fabrega
Any ideas on this? I think he speaks for vandoorne car

First race where they use lower drag RW....car looks twitchy for the first time this year...Prodrumou and Co. trying to compensate for poor power.
