Royall engine was a strait eight.
Twin plugs, because the original design was for an aircraft.

I think you are talking about where the cam chain goes thru ..I was laughing at the old style points and condenser ignition system

At least it's a 4 valve design but with a chain drive :oops:

Great pic of the coventry engine there. Looks like they used slide valves for their mechanical injection. Great stuff
