10,000hp+300mph = Weird Stuff Going On

The tire/tyre distortion is something else but I also love the way the car 'arches its back' on a stout run. That's a car trying to wheelie at 300 mph+ but being pinned down by the front wing.

Thank you!...Thank You. No it wasn't that track in Wittman.
In the picture you'll notice the track is down below the spectators. It made for a very gladiatorial effect.
Not very safe by todays standards, but it made a life long impression on a teenager and set the course for a love affair with the sport.
It was closed by the time I was able to actually take part, but Beeline filled the vacancy very well.

I google earthed the address and it doesn't look right for the track I remember but you know what?
It was 52 years ago and a long cold ride on poor running Pan Head. :lol:
The name Mel Larson is absolutely correct in any case.
