18" is too much imo 15 or 16 would be more reasonable.

I liked it too...

I think that it will also be good for wheel manufacturers, because they will have more visibility for their designs.
I mean...People may desire a similar F1 18 inch wheel design on their normal cars...Because I doubt anyone desire the current designs.

For me not using bigger wheels because it "doesn't look good" is big BS. Formula one cars have greatly evolved throughout the decades and so must the wheels and tyres. A lot of changes looked weird on the cars when first unveiled, but everyone eventually gets used to it, and holding back on performance because of looks is just ridiculous.

I wonder what Martin Brundle had to say about the car and tyres.

The overall diameter is the same as 13" wheels, right? If so, how could he not see the apex in corners??

Michelins stand on it. They even get over the Performance part of the change and seem confident that it wouldn't be a negative hit .

The diameter of a current slick is 660mm. At the beginning of the thread there was a side by side picture of a current Pirelli slick (fitted to a 13 inch wheel) and an 18 inch wheel fitted with a new, low profile Pirelli slick. The side by side shows that the 18 inch low profile slick has a larger diameter (unfortunately).

The 18" wheels on the GP2 car don't look bad, but something closer to 16" or 17" would look perfect in my opinion.
