Measuring Downforce from Ride Height/Pots

Hi All,

I am aware that in order to get actual downforce numbers, F1 uses either wheel force transducers or laser ride height sensors

The question is, how do they compensate for the drag force pitching the car up and still get accurate numbers?

as seen in this image, if the rear wing is behind the tire, and the drag force is large, the rear wing will pitch the car up about rear wheel, making the measurement of both downforce in the front and rear inaccurate though the average of the two will be correct.

How do they compensate for this?

Are you sure there's anything you even need to account for?

The only thing that matters is the load at the wheels. If there's a pitching moment - so what? It's real, not artificial. It's just baked right into the front and rear axle loads. No more work necessary.
