Yes , all 2008 F1 cars adopted the zero keel design but you could say that the twin keel design is not entirely lost ,

anyone know whats with the middle part of that wing?
that middle part seems to be a bit odd.

You can see similar cuts on the outer part of the profile too, cuts are intendent to deal with vortices that are produced by the endplates and dorsal fin.

I noticed that too. And that's the first time I see a 3rd front wing pillar in modern F1. Formula BMW cars have it, but I guess BMW's reasoning is not efficiency but just to make it look like BMW road cars' grill.

Most teams (like BMW.Sauber, McLaren etc.) use plane to plane linkage to support the center of the front plane in case the 2 convetional pillars are connected to the middle plane.
