SLS and SFF(solid freeform fabrication)has come a long way in recent times. When you have capability to produce those parts in one shot -eg you buy the biggest machine avaialble-then things suddenly get very attractive ....need only 4 parts? and maybe tomorrow you need a minor modification of a radius - alll aspects leading you in the direction of rapid prototyping.
As far as I know the major F1 teams are those who buy the biggest SLS machinery in this world.
When turnaround speed is what you need and man power is restricted....the days of the fabricators seem to be counted in F1 ...some exhaust ,some radiator and that´s about it...sad as it is.But considering you can start your SLS machine last thing before going home and literally can lift the finished product from the machine in the morning...

Hi guys,
Pedro DLR just said the diffuser is Zircotec sprayed over carbon composite. Is true it takes 2 small plates of titanium but the whole diffuser is carbon material. They only use it for exhaust gasses heat.

Regards.
