Is this cocky or what? I certainly respect everythig Red bull have done over the last few years, building the infrastructure of a great team and making good on the promise. But, really, they've just arrived and now they they are proding and poking the entire grid with a statement like this. Why do it? Instead keep that head down and let the racing do the talking.

Huh? I see no issue with it. Nothing wrong with being confident.

Red Bull is pretty solid. They will soon be fighting on a similar resource level as their rivals and arguably had the best car without initial DDD. Newey has shown that he can consistently build good cars. I do not see a reason to doubt what Horner is saying. Vettel will learn from this campaign and will become stronger. He could be driving on a level with the former champs next year. This talk is probably aimed at him. He must be convinced that the Bull will take up the fight and that he need not look for a top drive else where. Merc would be willing to snap him up immediately if they sense a weakness in Mateschitz.

Cocky, nah. The most cocky bit, in my eyes, was "We have got a secret weapon – and it is called Adrian Newey"

It's throwing down the gauntlet, for themselves really. They've got less time than McLaren and Ferrari to build a fast car that can challenge them, because they'll have a faster car than they do now, McLaren said their car in development is faster already.

I see nothing wrong with what Horner said.

Only this year he has, not for other years. Newey did a great job this year, he actually built a car that was reliable for once and did not fall apart during the race. Many of Newey's previous cars however were quite fragile and unreliable.
