:?

what a shame! Kob is a brilliant driver and that he has proved it on more than one occasion in F1. I wish he should get a drive for next year for full season [-o<

by more than 1 do you mean 2? since thats the total # of F1 races he has done

Yes, I meant 2 F1 races. We all know he just had two F1 races and that's what I was referring to.

I don't think it's as simple as that. I believe the Toyota "Team" in any shape or form still own that grid slot until they are either bought out or dissolved.

What is significant about 8 Nov that makes you sure they'll announce on that date?

While we're on the subject of crystal ball gazing, I'm not convinced all the new teams will make it to the first race.

8th of Nov = Budget day for Toyota...do they have one and how much will it be?

So it wasn't the 8th after all ;)

Toyota are breaking their contract (Concord) with FOM. That will go down like a ton of bricks with Bernie. The thing is publicly announced. There is no way Bernie will give them any benefits. BMW at least were honest about their predicament. Sauber can expect some help from FOM and FIA. Howett is a joke. Nobody will believe anything he says. Toyota will most likely use the facility for other motor sport activities involving hybrids. Le Mans comes to mind.

Personally, if i were STR-Ferarri, id get a older head involved with the team as Buemi would be a good foil for say a Heidfeld or a Trulli next to him.

But Post-Toyota i hope Kimui gets a seat somewhere, Kimi will now go to either Sauber or Mclaren now.

By my reconing that makes the pitlane look like this:

1&2 Brawn GP-Mercedes (Button & TBA)
3&4 Red Bull-Renault (Vettel & Webber)
5&6 McLaren-Mercedes (Hamilton & TBA)
7&8 Ferarri (Alonso & Massa)
9&10 Williams-Cosworth (Barrichello & Hulkenberg)
11&12 Renault (Kubica & TBA)
14&15 Force India-Mercedes (TBA & TBA)
16&17 STR-Ferarri (TBA & TBA)
18&19 Campos Meta-Cosworth (Senna & TBA)
20&21 Manor GP-Cosworth (TBA & TBA)
22&23 USF1-Cosworth (TBA & TBA)
24&25 Lotus F1 Team-Cosworth (TBA & TBA)
26&27 Qadbak Sauber-Ferarri (TBA & TBA)

Reasoning behind the way the pit will be laid out is points from previous season for Brawn to STR-Ferarri, then alphabetically for the new entrants in the order they were confirmed, as Lotus were confirmed after Manor and USF1 they go after them and with Sauber being the 14th entrant, they go after Lotus. The first 3 teams get 3 garrage births at most GPs (Monaco, Hungary and Interlagos excluded as all will get 2 birth garrages there) the rest will all get 2 birth garrages.

As oposed to the current 5 for first 3 teams, 4 for the next 3 and 3 for the next 4 teams.

I recon that drivers will confirm pretty quickly now for 2010.

Aren't STR Ferrari's drivers confirmed as Buemi and Alguersuari??

:-k

wild card guess: Boy, USF1 is given car number 22 & 23. Though just a coincidence for the last two years, driver from car number 22 has won the WDC by exactly the same way, at same track, and by same race-finish position. I wonder if indeed USF1 are given numbers 22 & 23, who will be in car number 22..... :-$ will there be a drivers' war at USF1??

any wild guesses?? :-#

I'm going to publicly say that I'd eat my underpants if USF1 won anything.

STR havnt officially confirmed their lineup and engine supply, but i think they aer gonna confrim Buemi and Ferarri soon, i think they could be looking at Alguersuari for a season in GP2 now that Toyota have left, posibly putting Kimui Kobiyashi in the STR second seat.

Altho, i am thinkint that of Renaults board meeting today decide to just make them a engine supplyer, i feel that the Renault F1 team could be a way into the sport for Prodrive in a round-a-bout way.

Yup, it's going to be up close and personal in the pits next year! Of the top 3, Brawn and RB won't notice any difference compared to this year, McL will know what it is like from being at the back in 08. Not sure what Ferrari will like going from 5 bays to 2!

Thankfully we'll see less groupies in the garages, only space for the pit crew and a few tyres.

Ferarri wont really like it going from 5 to 2, but thats the price they pay for abandoning the F60 a couple of races too early, could have gottn those extra 2 points that would have seen them have 3 bays and not 2 and not too much upheaval. Im shure at a couple of tracks like Bahrain and Malaysia wheres lots of space the 4th team (Ferarri) will get one more bay, but not too many other places will get get more than the 2. Im shure that the same can be said for the Hospitality zones as well, Ferarri will only be allowed to take one motorhome to each European race, not the 2 they had this year.

we all know Ferrari is F1 and they need them. I'm sure they will make some room for another Ferrari motorhome, especially since the new teams won't have huge motorhomes to fill those gaps. Think of how big the Brawn was this year, tiny compare to the others.

WB, I think you should add question marks or asterisks for the drivers who have not yet been officially annnounced. And check the spelling too.
