wonder if it is prodrive that they are talking to ?

Or trying to convince Dave Richards to manage the team, simmilar to what he did with Subaru in WRC and what he was gonna do at BAR. Didnt Dave Richards do a little management of the Benneton team in the late 90s early noughties???

But Renault doing a Mercedes and supplying up to 3 teams with engines could be the best idea for them. But i see the Renault marque in F1 for one more year before they sell up and get out of F1 as a team, but not a engine supplyer. Something that Toyota should have thought of as well, as im shure that a Toyota powered USF1 car and posibly a Toyota powered STR with Kimui beside Buemi would have been a marketing masterstroke.

I've always seen it as developing other bits of the business to pay for the F1 team, whereas Williams IS the F1 team :-)

I *think* this is why Adam Parr has been brought in. I think his remit is to expand the company and give it more stability through technological tieups such as the Qatar deal recently.

Yeah with Parr they finally have a good business man to tie the racing/engineering into the modern era.

As for Renault, they will still be here next year. So no worries for the mean time.

Latest is that they will reconsider at the end of the year .... Kubica must be a bit annoyed having only just signed for them. If they pull out that late he'll struggle to find a seat.

Renault always seemed to me to be the leanest of the full manufacturer teams.

I am sure they'll be on the grid in Bahrain...

didn't the final crashgate ruling include a "you can't leave F1 in the next 3 years" condition, or something like that?

Don't worry Mom. We'll take good care of him.

Renault's F1 managing Director is quoted as saying:

Caubet re-confirmed to the sports daily L’Equipe: “We have already contracted our drivers, had our budget approved and are enrolled in the world championship. Season 2010 has begun already.”

He added that Renault CEO Carlos Ghosn has also laid out his expectations for Renault’s 2010 season, stating that the team must “returns to a good level”.
