Following on from the discussion in the 2010 cars topic, I thought I'd just say something.

It really annoys me when people say 'I gave 150 percent or 1 million percent, or go out there and give 110 percent. 100% is the maximum, the highest possible. The rest is just bollox. With most of you guys being more mathematical than most, I thought you'd appreciate this old quote.

From a strictly mathmatecal viewpoint

What makes 100 percent? What does it mean to give MORE than 100 percent? Ever wonder about those people who say they are giving more than 100 percent? We all have been to those meetings where someone wants you to give over one hundred percent. How about acheiving 103 percent? What makes up 100 percent in life?

Here's a little mathematical formula that might help you answer these questions;

H-A-R-D-W-O-R-K

8+1+18+4+23+15+18+11= 98 percent

but

A-T-T-I-T-U-D-E

1+20+20+9+20+21+4+5 =100 percent

and,

B-U-L-L-S-H-I-T

2+21+12+12+19+8+9+20= 103 percent

and look how far this one will take you,

A-S-S-K-I-S-S-I-N-G

1+19+19+11+9+19+19+9+14+7= 118 percent!

So, one can conclude with mathematical certainty that while HARDWORK and KNOWLEDGE will get you close, and ATTITUDE will get you there, its really the BULLSHIT and ASSKISSING that will put you over the top.

Well, Kabalah here.

I respect that, but giving 110% is not a rational thing.

I have a heart and I know that without a heart you cannot race, my friends.

I'm sure Gibells can dig it, he writes from Andalucía.

Remember, Gibells? "Qué te has hecho corazón, que no te siento en el pecho? Sin duda te habrás desecho, o no tengo corazón." Olé. ("Where have you gone, my heart, that I cannot feel you in my chest? Without doubt you have dissolved, or maybe I don't have a heart." Yeah, I know, it doesn't make too much sense in english, but english... well).

So, very appropriately "I AM ALL HEART" gives you 100% and "HEART AND MIND" gives 111%, one point above 110%, a number I like.

As J.R.R. Tolkien would say, "I'm giving eleventyone per cent". Let the journos try to figure out that...

Besides, I bet you haven't read that before: I just wrote it, from my heart... to you.
