From this picture I can see that exhaust pipes are pointing up and outside.

So why all this black area of different material on the exit of the pipes, draw a path towards the diffuser

I just say where I see pipes pointing, nothing more. Haven't speculated about exhaust/hot gasses flow at all.

Me too, I just see them on my screen pointing to inside, not sure if they are pointing up, down or middle, to drive flow up of middle beam and down to diffuser

The rear wheel cooling duct are massive. They must be using the them to generate down extra force.

i love how the diffusor cover is carbon fibre. cost cutting my balls. also i expect area to be intentionally deceptive especially on the studio photos. if they had a proper launch we could have seen some different angles from camera phones and the like that would have made it more clear what is going on with the exhaust/radiator air exit.

Rear wheel fins are grouped together... (yellow rectangle=f150)

After analysing a bit better this is my theory of air escapes and flow from engine and radiator hot air

The side pods seems to be quite interesting to me as they are actually pointing the exit of the side pods where the exhaust is towards the diffuser. It seems like they are trying hard to retain the 'blowing' diffuser but in order not to compromise the 'coke bottle'rear design they actually make the lower side of the side pods slimmer than the upper side and trust me those side pods looks much more beautiful compared to the one on the McLaren.

McLaren have fixed the exhaust in the lowest most rearwards position possible, the tail pipe then pointing steeply upwards and inwards. From the limited view it would appear to direct the exhaust plume towards the outer span of the rear wing.

OMG It is so beautiful. I can't believe it. Such a sexy car. I love the nose. It would be better if the car was green instead of red though.

We pity new F1 fans coming into the sport in 2012. They are forced to like F1 with these grotesque nose designs.

my Lord! If most of F1 cars will be this ugly, I hope that the Grid Girls will be the opposite, and JB, please bring Jessy to all races!

For once it's refreshing design. A totally different approach to cooling compared to RBR style.

It does look like that the hot air exit at the rear of the engine cover is being used to blow the diffuser.

Some other things on this car look quite interesting too. The pull-rod front suspension is a surprise (though i expect it on the RB8 as well). It has a bit of a "U" to the sidepods too. The turning vanes on the outside of the sidepods look to be split too.

Thanks. We've all read Scarbs' piece. Welcome by the way.

Totally understand why they might have had crash test problems -- the nosecone ahead of the bump is really thin!
