perhaps the teething problem is caused by the first quick lap alonso did with the F2012.

Last year's pole time was a 1:20.9, given that this is probably the highest aero circuit of the year, we might be looking at a second to a second and a half's penalty from last year... I'd say if someone gets into the 1:22s in testing then 1) it will have been a very light car 2) the car is probably pretty damn quick. I'd expect in reality, due to sand bagging a low 1:23 will be the fastest we'll see in testing.

And already Hulkenberg at 1:23.440 , almost there . Sounds realy promissing

Last year the quickest Findia qualifying time was a 1:24.332 though. And Hulkenberg was on mediums. (Barca 2011 race, the option tyre was soft)

Btw, Alonso just did a quick lap (compared to the timings till now)..1:24.100

Plus they brought the super softs that they didn't have last week, although no one has used them yet I think

Alonso has a pretty nice stint going that time was set on the first lap of the stint on mediums. It's hard to analyze Alonso's tims because he's lines to set up the first sector clean by backing off a lot!
