tbh ,why should those crash test delay them getting the cars ready? You need to prepare no matter what the test results are.so the proper way would have been to get one car ready for testing ,do all the fitting and have it sitting in the workshop ready to go.
if you need to rework areas of the tub so be it ...modify tub 2 and swap the go .

They simply are not ready it´s not just the crash test...they are not allowed to run the car without ,sure, but you can build your car.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think every tub has to have some sort of strength test, but not the full crash test?

So they can't assemble the car until the tub has been tested.

Maybe they mean color wise, Black and Gold maybe? Either way the E20 doesn't look bad

the team colours are white and gold now arent they? remember when force indias livery looked like a mclaren from a distance in 2008?

Maybe we could end up with a similar scenario with Lotus and Hispania

Yes I remember the confusion with force India and Mclaren. I Read on this thread and on the HRT's fan Facebook that its probably going to be gold and white with some black. I wonder if they got any professional designer to design the livery like they did last year.

If your chasis is not homologated, what's the point to have it in Barcelona?

All chasis must have the FIA approval, so if they are crash-testing chasis number 2 (let's say) and your chasis number 1 it is not improved to pass the test, you won't be able to use it on test.

Autosport says that HRT won't be ready for Barcelona test.

No Autosport say they won't be ready for the start but will be there for 2 of the 4 days.

boys, the actual crash test tub is not going to be a real car.So it does not stop you from building up chassis 3,4 or whatever.
A lot of activities have to go in paralellel and out of sequence.
Just imagine you had crash tested your top and find out you cannot mount some component without modifying the tub ..homologation wasted...

So the homologation is surely a matter of signing off your work but has NOTHING to do with the work you need to perform to build up your actual race car.It does not stop you doing anything but actually running the thing in an official test.

If you need to modify the tub to meet certain test criteria ,it´s too late to build a new monocoque anyways ,all deadlines for having a redesign have passed long time ago so you can only put additions to the part trying to match the specification and rehomologate when the first proper made chassis is laid up.
Say you got a problem in the side impact test ,this will not hinder your effort building up and documenting your car build .the mechnics have to fit and dismantle all the components anyways day in day out ...It´s not like a car is build up it stays like this for weeks.the fitting and solving of issues for panels and components ,that´s what takes up time ,you have designed an exhaust and the sidepodpanel is a bit closer than you had designed or maybe you just had not the right data and suddenly it´s not 25 but less than 10mm ,as the supplier did not have that 300mm bend radius specified for that tube ...
all things nothing to do with crash test passed.

Exactly. Work must have been done in the background to build up as much of the chassis as they could.

Guess we will see this week!!

it´s beyond me how teams put forward reasons everyone in the paddock will lough out loud when hearing...the failed test is the symptome not the reason why they will not be ready.
It was a big mistake NOT to demand all crash tests being signed off as a must before taking over the project.

Thesan Capital took over in July 2011... HRT wasn't crash testing the F112 then.

Anyway lets see this week what happens!

Kolles left long time later...that was purely bad planning and negotiating lack of experience and knowledge.
