I thought it was a fun race to watch! I was rooting for Alonso but am happy to see Maldonado take the victory.

But Hamilton really deserves a win. He has been driving fantastically this season.

Hamilton is in a good shape, but this season is hard to predict.

Yeah, the tires are all over the place. But if you look at the WDC standings, nothing has really changed. It is all the usual suspects, albeit with a much stronger Lotus (and Raikkonen).

Like someone else already said, the key to this year's title is consistency.

I just hope we don't have a year like Rosberg's WDC year, with every driver getting a win of their own and the rest being down to consistency. I'd like to have 2 or 3 real contenders stand out and win the bulk of the races.

Yep, I asked this on twitter; got an answer: he might've banged wheels with another car (hence the change in paint colour!). But anyhow, he wasn't running mis-matched compounds.

Very good lap comparison between Lotus, RB, McL and Ferrari from Barcelona. I have impression that F2012 is not that hard to handle compared to others.

At least in Alonso's hands.

Could also mean that it's not as predictable when right on the edge so Alonso is having to drive slightly more conservatively. It's noticeable that the Lotus and McLaren complete the lap a lot quicker than the Red Bull with the Ferrari somewhere in between.

if you noticed, lotus and mclaren had better traction then RBR and Ferrari in this video. you see that somewhere on half of lap they are even, but when they come in 3rd sector, this two teams fly through last couple of corners- :o

Not that I disagree, but this is not the only place the RBR & Ferrari are down on time – watch for where each car hits the apex of turn 4 – the McLaren already has a 0.5 second advantage over the RBR there.

what about ferreri f2012 barcelona setup?
f2012 was 50 km/h slower at start line than the rest of the teams.
so what are good points of f2012 that were used in the rest of the track to compensate lack of the speed on the straight?
maldonado was going 300 km/h at start line, and he had similar lap time as alonso.
