As far as I know F1 suspension layouts are dictated by aerodynamic gains, often sacrificing mechanical grip in the process. Perhaps MGP is turning this balance around somewhat?

But I don't see any reason why they can't do both in parallel. It is not that the aero guys of MGP team are also working on suspension, is it ?

this is really one key consideration - if this is considered a man power issue...but you need to understand that development cannot easily be separated aero from suspension as all is very interrelated or better said suspension is a slave of aero needs more than anything else and the two cannot be looked at as two entities as the cars attitude over ground is strongly influencing downforce (so suspension control IS VERY important) but at the same time aero forces act like a spring or maybe even a damper ...

I feel Mercedes is doing very well in restricting themselves putting new stuff on the car now.

It seems that the car is too slow on this circuit... Bad news :(

to me ..We are back to normal service for Schumacher ...Expecting two wins on the trot in Silverstone and Germany... will this bring him into the championship equation ?..not really.. at least not this year:roll:

Get in there Schumacher!

ALO 33.7 45.7 32.1
WEB 33.6 45.6 32.4
SCH 34.5 45.6 31.8

Sector 1 cost him, pole for definite if he had one more lap.

Pity.

In the wet, no :D .

Schumacher was matching the guys on the inters, whilst he was on the extremes! :wtf:

He was the man of Q3. Shame that he didn't start on inters which probably cost him the pole position, but good omen for tomorrow.

With even Nico voicing preference for a wet race, the W03 & Michael are definitely going to need the weather gods (along with the mechanical reliability gods) to smile their way. I just hope the SC & red flag won't get in the way of what could be a great race. [-o<

Raikkonen said it was impossible to get heat into the inters in 1 lap which compromised Q3. If you look at Michael's improvement from S1 to S2 to S3,I think it is obvious that if he had a 2 lap run he would probably be in pole now

Just how many times did der regenmeister go off the track in Q1 and Q2 then, xcuse me but I lost count?

He was just plain lucky that he didn't end up like Grosjean, but the marshals would perhaps helped MS out?

His visor had misted up on that run and the conditions were treacherous at that time, leading to the session being red flagged. Even Alonso spun once during quali and in fact broke his front wing on Friday.
It was a good performance by both these drivers and IMO if Schumi had got one more run on inters he cud've gone even faster. So yes, normal service resumed. :)

Alonso same ...

I´d think both kept their head just enough to not get beached in a gravel trap...or it was luck ..either ways I´m happy

3 times in q2 , once when he set purple sector 1
and that was due to fogged up visor.....the team didnt give him antifog visor
its not luck that he didnt end up like Grosjean, its called car control skill to get the car back on track...just like Alonso in q2

Michael Schumacher - 3rd: "Naturally I'm pleased with today's result - after all, we're in the top three again. It didn't look so good before the break in Q2 because my visor was completely misted up and that meant I had some excitement during that lap!."
