Pretty good marcush, goldstar if you know Italian for "snowplow"?

Legend is that Forghieri had in a primitive windtunnel found that the full-bodied sportscar 312P, had more downforce than the slimmer F1 312 B2, why he made this one prototype with a much wider chassis, still not quite understanding why.

Your go!

Edit: Apparently you did, goldstar duly deserved!

1) who had the idea of a true F-1 ground effect car using venturi tunnel ?

2) for what team and car ?

Hints: BTW it was before Colin Chapman. The resulting car had no ground effect but introduced two new features in F-1.

Could it have been Tony Rudd at BRM?

Or you might be thinking of Robin Herd with the March 701, but I doubt that.

Jim Hall???
There are two things in this world that take no skill: 1. Spending other people’s money and 2. Dismissing an idea.

first i answer..

Gordon murray BT44 If i´m correct? he had a front airdam(instead of wings) and a v shaped tunnel on the bottom of the tub ...both intended to create ground effect downforce.

Not sure about the innovations on that car apart from that ..I know they experimented with Carbon Brakes already..but i think I have to dig deeper in my memory to retrieve those two features..

But I have one formula 1 car question .There was one formula 1 car which was barely driveable as it had a design feature giving the driver an especially hard time ...
Please name the car and one of its drivers .
Hint :The team was owned by someone who made a decent career latewr on in the states as THE raceengineer bagging titles with numerous drivers.

Morris Nunn comes to mind, while I guess one Clay Regazzoni would have one or two things to tell, if he was still with us?

That bizzare thing would definitely fit the bill as the ugliest F1 contraption ever.

The BT44 was a nice try, but what about the two new features never seen before in F-1 ?

The man had also designed venturi shaped sportscars for both group C and IMSA GTP in the early 80's.

Here to be seen on the left. Robin Herd is in the car a March 827.

2) for what F-1 team and car ?
