2010 cars are faster even in S3.

And just to compare V6t vs V10:
Best S1 this year was 30.5s by rosberg. 2005 best S1 28.8s by fisichella.
V10 power owns all.

V10 power to weight ratio is no match to today's cars. 900-950hp/605kg vs 800-850hp/710kg
The 2010 p/w ratio isnt bad; 1.20 (2010) vs 1.19 (2015) + much ore downforce

to me this seems to be the right time and place to ask these questions arising from the race we just watched ......

with the fall in power from V10 to V8s iirc Eau Rouge was no longer a grip-limited corner (likewise some others generally)
is ER now again truly grip-limited or is there any cornering margin when flat-out ?
race or qually dependent ?

I would suspect so, not so much power-wise, but due to less downforce and the Pirelli tires?

Depends on the car. Race conditions on mediums I think actually very few cars could go flat and even then only merc could possibly do it easily. I know for a fact grosjean couldn't do it on various stages troughout entire race and even had to lift for blanchimont believe it or not. RB was flat trough and trough both corners, but was on soft tires so it's not a like for like comparison.

Edit, ok found grosjean on softs lifting massively trough eau rouge and blanchimont starts at 15:15
compare to that to Ricciardo at 16:50, just before he retires (he's on medium tires as well). Not a hint of lift.
Then check out Kvyat at 22:25 going flat trough ER carrying some 10-15 clicks more than the car in front and grosjean earlier.

Yeah sure, got any onboards to prove that? As you're trying to make it so obvious it's THAT simple. STRAT 1 made sure it wasn't.

Considering how close the sector times are for S! one can assume that just about everyone, if not everyone is flat through Eau Rouge. The LMP1 cars are also flat through Eau Rouge, even in the race.

I hoped that this eau rouge drama would have ended...several drivers in different interviews during the last years said that present F1 cars are perfectly able to go flat out: (e.g. I remember alonso's one in 2014)..
I was there two weeks ago and I can confirm that in qualify most, if not all, drivers went flat out
