The T-Wing is just flimsy as ---... The rearwing doesnt wooble or move even if the car rolls, or rather it keeps it stays upright. But its also attached in two points, the T-wing is midmounted to the body, so the flaps on it have no support or rigid points.

On the main straight sidepod vanes are all over the place. Also you can see how flexible is the front wing. Each side of the wing is close to the ground as possible, under braking front wing rises up.

Do you think that all that flimsiness is on purpose for aero benefit or maybe they just decided it doesn't matter if it's fragile or flimsy so they can save some weight? For instance the T-wing... I'm asking because of this...
Mr. Fahrenheit wrote:Would uneven flow across the rear wing affect the load distribution across it? If that was the case - and the difference was sufficient - when the T-wing is bending and altering the flow, the loading on the tyres changes too (suspension permitting).

Please fire in if I'm wrong but in a perfect scenario, on a right-hander with the t-wing bending away from the apex, the flow would move towards the left of the rear wing... more load on the left wheel = more traction. This would effectively be traction-driven rear-wheel steering. You could induce over-steer by adjusting the flex in the T-wing and suspension response. Horrible on tyre deg though.

Possibly why there's no shark fin as that'll just limit flexion.
It does kinda make sense...

Possible passive f-duct?

Take air flow from the nose, pipe it to here, at high speeds it causes enough disruption to detach flow, and change the whole flow pattern of air down the rest of the car?

Watching this video it seems like the mirror covers are actually angled forwards towards the outside. Is this really so or is the camera FOV playing tricks on me?

Could the holes be used in order to improve the laminar flow around that surface? Something inspired by this concept: https://www.nasa.gov/centers/langley/ne ... Wings.html.

Nice picture of the steering wheel, cool feature being able to keep control of brake and tyre temps during the race. Which of the three dials at the bottom are to change the engine maps?

  • Left: Engine strategy, currently set to '1 CHAR' or Strategy 1/Charge (the battery)
  • Middle: Multi-function rotary, currently set to Bite point setting
  • Right: High performance powertrain rotary, currently set to 'Shift' setting

Thanks Mark, did you notice what strat mode Bottas was on for his quickest on board laps?

Strat 2, because at the end - he made one anti-clockwise movement to get to Strat 1.

Strat 2 is their usual qualifying Strat
Strat 3 is 'Pit'/Fast in-lap[?] mode
Strat 6 is 'ATACK' mode https://i.imgur.com/sZZamYG.jpg
Strat 11 is 'DPLOY' mode
Strat 12 is unknown
Strat 13 is not disclosed
