Will we have any of the LMP1 cars finish the race?

This looks like LMP1 has hit a dead end ... there will be massive changes or no Lmp1 next year. Anyway #2 may win unless some more problems occur :/

If a P2 wins overall, does that count as a privateer?

I hope this not be a reason to stop LMP1. I like these cars. This show us just it need to develop.
There is a hope of me that #8 toyota will win. :wtf:

There is no way #8 win race but maybe Lmp1 class if #2 hits the problem. Lmp1 became very complicated and expensive. .. Is there a point of having 4 cars (for example) in the class... I hope Lmp1 will continue but I hope it will change to attract more manufacturers / teams / cars

#8 numbered Toyota at P9. Porsche take the lead. Last 1 hour. Porsche took leader faster than I had guessed.

Main issue seems to be development of a competative and reliable powertrain. You now have a number of credible supercar hybrid engines. Mclaren, Ferrari, Porsche, Audi and soon Mercedes. I think that opens the door for a formula based on stock engines and custom chassis.

Something needs to happen, But with most of the consumer cars moving in that direction I think Le mans cannot turn back on hybrid technology. Otherwise it ends up being like the Daytona prototypes, fun racing, but push rods in 2017, really?
