"Drive a nice race"?

Lets trust that vdM does not emulate fellow Dutchman Max-DNF then, eh..

For sure, either Rossi must've been 'sandbagging' - about the actual extent of his injuries, or he is taking a fearful risk..

Told you he'd be out there. He's getting loads of pain injections in the leg and it's obviously a terribly dangerous thing for him to be doing as if he comes off it'll be pretty horrendous. But lets face it, if they come off at any time it's dangerous.

Good effort by Rossi to Q so well, & make 3rd on the grid behind pole man Vinales, & Lorenzo..
M.M. is in 5th, behind Crutchlow, & ahead of Pedrosa in 6th..

Race was very good. Real racing excitement. Rossi raced very well in spite of injury.

Looks like MM will win another title that, albeit deserved because he's riding phenomenally well, he really had no business winning with some of the bike issues he's had. Last year was the same - the Honda terrible at the start of the season.

But he's just the fastest guy and has now learned to be pretty consistent too. The other guys let him off the hook so much though by their own inconsistency.

Shame for Rossi as he's been there or thereabouts for three years now, long after people wrote him off as past it, but I still think the whole Motorcross thing is mental.

MM deserves it more than anyone else as on most GP weekends, he has been driving a bike that was sometimes the third best and sometimes second best and has won them. This season, there have been numerous times when the bike gives up and MM has crashed. He puts those incidents behind and rides as if nothing happened and his confidence never shakes. Those are qualities that the other contenders haven't shown. Dovi and Vinales need a perfect bike and a perfect weekend to win. There is not a single race where either Dovi and Vinales rode the bike, out of their comfort zone and won.

Splendid effort by Dovi to 'rain on M.M.'s parade' & take the win via a last lap pass @ the Nippon G.P. at Honda's own track, Motegi.

A wet weekend had Zarco on pole, but the Ducati crew stormed away from the start, with M.M. the only Honda in
contention, & he put on his usual late race squeeze to take the lead..

Only by dint of a maximum effort attack, compounded by a near-lose error by M.M. - could Dovi get past, & reduce his
championship points gap by 5 points, rather than 'play safe' in 2nd, & accept a +10 points advantage to M.M...

Petrucci brought his Ducati home for the final step on the box, & Rossi crashed out, apparently without adding injury to insult..
