Vettel needs a head and shoulders dominant car if he is to win back to back. and he needs pole positions too.
All i know is Max and Dan will be up his arse for the remaining races as the redbull is getting better and better.
Its quite possible they will be very strong at COTA and Brazil. I can see another redbull win in the next 4 races, possibly in Brazil.
If Lewis wins 2 more its over right?
Simple math:
Gap is now 59. A win extends the lead by at the very least 7 points to 66. A 5th place would decrease that gap by a maximum of 15 points bringing the gap down to 51 with 50 points left. This is assuming Vettel does the best possible result in those races.
Not for nothing, Rosberg's Championship is the only thing that lends credibility to Hamilton's recent success. Otherwise, he'd just be the guy who's had the best car. — bhall II #Team44 supporter

Indeed. For some reason I didn't add the extra 7 for the win. Sorry.
So Hamilton has 2 DNF's in his pocket only needs to win 1 race and can then finish 5th.
Even in that long shot if requires Vettel having to win 3 of the next 4.
What ferrari need is a better driver in their 2nd car. Having Kimi now is seriously hurting vettels chances now.
Kimi has never scored at COTA driving for Ferrari, so that is that.
Best, and only, finish was a 6th place for Lotus 5 years ago - I think Vettel is on his own for this one! If Kimi finishes higher than 5th, I'll be surprised.
Might also note that if Hamilton wins one more race, he'll win the championship in the event that they end up with the same points. If Vettel wins all 4 remaining races and they end with the same points, Vettel wins the championship provided Hamilton does not score more then two second places and 5 points.
Assuming Vettel wins all 4 races and they draw equal, Hamilton would have to score exactly 41 points in the next 4 races. Currently these are the podium finishes for both:
==Hamilton==
8 wins
3 2d's
0 3th's
==Vettel==
4 wins
5 2d's
1 3th
If they draw equal regarding these podium finishes, both winning 8 races, 5 second places and 1 third place, Hamilton will outscore Vettel (2 second places and 1 third place > 41 points), so that's not possible.
2 second places are worth 36 points, meaning Hamilton cannot score more than 5 points in the other 2 races. Only possible with a 10th and 8th finishing position.
2 third places are worth 30 points, meaning Hamilton cannot score more than 11 points in the other 2 races. Only possible with a 10th and 5th finishing position.
Probably a whole lot more variations, but these are are the most likely events that Vettel still wins the WDC at equal points, disregarding drawing equal points is very difficult in the first place (and spells a nightmare for the moderator team trying to stop the bickering who deserved the WDC more).
Vettel rams his car hard enough into Hamilton in order to incapacitate him for the remainder of the season, then goes on to win the three final races. You're welcome.

Imagine him doing that, incapacitating Hamilton but unluckily also incapacitating himself. I think Bottas will put up a devilish Finish smile at that thought.
Ferrari's weakness is the side pods. All Hamilton has to do is aim for the side-pods, take Vettel out and take a one-race ban. Vettel may get 25 in the next race bringing the gap to 34 points . In the third race (Brazil) Hamilton aim for the side-pods again. Bang. Zero points for Vettel gain. Hamilton gets a one race ban but who cares?! he wins the Championship in Brazil!

Exactly why in 1997, WDC was Jacques Villenueve and Schumacher = 0 point.
Vettel will do anything it takes tomorrow to win. He must, if he is to remain withing striking distance. If Hamilton still wins (with Vettel second), the gap will be 66 points. That means Vettel will need a minimum of 2 wins plus a second. If Hamilton somehow injures himself (been seeing him doing 'stuff' over the social media, motorcycling is one of them and just your butt touching the seat opens up a world of possibilities) and can't compete the last 3 races, who do you guys think Mercedes would replace him with ?
Would they ask Rosberg ?
