if Vettel is on pole i expect championship will be over after first corner.

On this circuit i guess experience make difference!! Alonso will be high also Lewis and Kimi (with a decent car Michael could be on podium here)

With Vettel and Alonso the only 2 folks able to do the title, here's how they stick up:
Vettel 255
Alonso 245

That's 10 points between the two.

The championship leader can always clinch the title at the penultimate round, so Vettel can now. In order for Vettel to do that he must outscore Alonso by 15 points. If he does beat Alonso by 15 points that means Vettel will win countback anyways - so he just has to draw level with Alonso on points. (If Alonso is to beat Vettel on count back, he has to win)

In order for Vettel to clinch the title in Austin, one of the following must occur:

If Vettel wins:
- Alonso finishes 5th or lower

If Vettel gets P2:
- Alonso finishes 9th or lower

If Vettel gets P3:
Alonso doesn't score

Any other outcome means the title goes down to the wire.

I know its a new circuit. But looking at the map and design, what circuit would this be similar to?

And in terms of set up, high DF or pure straight line speed?

Looks, to my eye, similar to Suzuka/Silverstone in df level terms.

guys Vettel is new world champion. believe me... today was only chance for Alonso so put some points between him and Sebastian.
Red bull look so strong he starts on pit lane and in 6 laps he was on P13... RB8 looks so strong and will be impossible to lose 10 points.
Ferrari should bring updates earlier in this season.

edit: for me this circuit looks like Hungaroring.... almost same design at first part and last part of circuit :D

Turn one look extremely tricky. I think there is a very good chance of a majr turn one accident. Think qualifying pole will be very important.

I am afraid that unless someone puts something on the car to match them, the bulls are and remain the strongest in the field and have the first chance here. In Abu Dhabi was a mix of good and bad luck for them that allowed Alonso to score some more points that allow him to stay close to Vettel.

T1 seems very interesting to me, will be interesting to see what happens there at the start.

Alonso can not win this championship on countback. Either he wins on points or he loses...
