Piquet Jr. to be replaced by di Grassi?

After the Singapore Grand Prix, rumours about the Renault F1 Team drivers keep flying around. Not only Fernando Alonso, but Nelson Piquet Jr. as well are in the centre of the hearsays. According to the latest reports, Lucas di Grassi would replace the young Brazilian in 2009.

Lucas di Grassi, who finished third in the GP2 series this season, is currently the official test driver of the Renault F1 Team and impressed them with his speed and attitude during a three-day test session at Jerez.

According to the rumours, Flavio Briatore would have offered Nelson Piquet Jr. to Toro Rosso for the 2009 season, but the Faenza-based team is not interested unless a big financial incentive is connected to the switch.

Of course Flavio Briatore is hopeful that Fernando Alonso will stay with Renault in 2009 after the first win of the season at Singapore.
