Organisers Canadian GP not informed by FIA

Yesterday, the revised 2009 Formula One calendar was released by the FIA and this after the World Motor Sport Council meeting. We learned that the Canadian Grand Prix was removed from the calendar, but it appears that the organisers of the race at the Gilles Villeneuve circuit were never informed.

A statement of the Canadian GP organisers said: "The organisers of the Canadian Grand Prix have learned through the media of the Canadian Grand Prix's removal from the 2009 Formula One championship calendar.

"Consequently, no comments will be issued before speaking with the interested parties, Formula One Management (FOM) and the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA)."
