Donington Park officials unfazed by skepticism

Donington Park has been signed up to replace the Silverstone circuit as of 2010, but many are still doubting whether the new facility will be ready in time to host that years British GP. Seeing how extensive upgrades to the entire course are planned before it can be qualified to host a Formula One event. But owner Simon Gillet believes he can complete the project on schedule, despite the massive work yet to be completed in such a short time.

"I don't have to convince people. I'll convince them by building it," Gillet shared with the 'BBC', "I'm not going to stand here and tell everyone 'you have to believe me, honest, please'. I'm not interested in that. They'll see when buildings come out of the ground and cars turn up on the grid."

"If they still want to sit at home not believing me, that's their prerogative," he added, "To be honest, I love the scepticism. It's what motivates me."
