Red Bull scraps own KERS in favour of Renault's
David Coulthard has confirmed that Red Bull has halted its own KERS programme somewhere during this winter in favour of using Renault's system. Coulthard said to ITV that the team decided it would be more economical to work with Renault and have it delivered together with the engine package.
Back in November, a fire was reported at Red Bull's headquarters as a result from a problem with their KERS batteries. It is not know if this was the direct cause for halting its KERS, but no doubt will it have influenced the decision.
