Indian GP not a night race, for now

As Bernie Ecclestone and the FOM continue their crusade to increase the viewers in mainland Europe, they would also like for the future Indian GP to be held at night in order to have an afternoon broadcast in Europe. But while it might appeal to the FOM, the managing director of the circuit's construction company assures that at least the first Formula One event will be held during the day, with the possibility of a switch to a night schedule later on.

Samir Gaur spoke to 'Reuters': "We want to see the outcome of the first race after which we will see if we can do a night race."

The circuit is due for completion by April 2011, a few months before its debut on the Formula One World Championship calendar.
