Hamilton leads FP3 with 1:21.009

Lewis Hamilton has continued to show his McLaren's upgraded pace in third free practice as he topped the timesheets once again. He stayed ahead of everyone else with a comfortable 0.4s margin. Championship contenders Brawn GP and Red Bull were down in the ranking.

Little over halfway though the session, Adrian Sutil crashed his Force India after getting dirt on his right-rear tyre on the exit of the chicane. He consequently oversteered at turn eight and crashed out. His best time is 1:23.231.

15 minutes ahead of the session's closure, Lewis Hamilton was on top with a 1:22.074, followed by Alonso, Kovalainen and Toro Rosso rookie Alguersuari. The team is most likely allowing him to run a bit lighter in the practices to get used to the track and the car to be able to continue with the rest of the weekend confidently.

With the quick laps at the end of the session, times have tumbled more with Hamilton comfortable staying ahead after another improvement to 1:21.009, the fastest lap so far this weekend. Second quickest is surprisingly nick Heidfeld, although a considerable 0.399s behind the Briton. Rosberg is third, Kovalinen 4th.

Jaime Alguersuari didn't improve in the last 15 minutes but is still only 1.382 seconds slower than Lewis Hamilton.
