Spanish body not happy with Renault and Alonso ban for Valencia

By on

The Spanish body has written a letter to the FIA International Court of Appeal to defend the interests of double World Champion Fernando Alonso and the European Grand Prix at Valencia. The letter follows Renault's suspension from the race for an incident at Hungary last month.

The Spanish body is of course thinking about the ticket sales for the European Grand Prix. Up 'till now, these haven't been too good and if home racer Fernando Alonso is banned from the race, it can be expected that not too many Spaniards will buy a ticket in the following weeks.

Renault's appeal hearing on the ban will be heard on August 17 in Paris. The verdict will follow in the afternoon.
